3 Months Old!

Cate turned 3 months old on Tuesday the 26th!  She is such a happy baby.  She smiles and laughs when you talk to her and she is very easy to calm down if she does get upset.  Cate has rolled from her stomach to her back and is really close to rolling from her back to her stomach.  She does tummy time, but not for very long.  She would rather be held and talked to.  She's doing better and better about sleeping at night, she'll usually go to sleep by 11PM and has one feeding in the middle of the night (usually either at 2AM or 4AM) and then she'll get up to eat again around 6AM.  She has made it all the way from 11PM to 6AM twice in the last couple weeks.  She has recently "graduated" out of her swaddle me sleep sack and is now just sleeping in her regular sleep sack.  She enjoys her pacifier and likes to go to sleep with it.  We recently gave her a rattle and a couple other toys, she likes to hold onto them and has even tried to put them in her mouth a couple times.  She reaches and bats at the toys hanging on her carseat handle.  She likes to get cozy when she's going to sleep, so she likes when you hand her a piece of her blankie to hold on to.  She doesn't go back to the doctor for her next well-baby until the end of November, but I'm guessing she weighs around 15 pounds.  Here's a photo of Cate I took when we went to the Mayberry Farm in Northville last weekend!

Zoo Boo

We took the kids to Zoo Boo at the Detroit Zoo on Friday the 22nd.  We had dinner for my Dad's birthday at Mongolian first with Great-Grampa Sokolnicki and Andrew.  Then, Jeremy, my Mom and I took the kids to the zoo.  They had trick-or-treating throughout the zoo and we got to check out all the little kids' costumes.

Busy Weekend!

We had a ton going on this past weekend.  On Friday night, Jeremy and I took the kids down to Cobo Hall because we had to pick up our packets for the Marathon Relay that we were running on Sunday.  Cobo was busy, and of course we had to navigate the stroller through the massive crowd, but we made it in record time.  We headed home and gave the kids baths and they went to bed.

On Saturday, we cleaned the house a bit and then the kids and I went to run errands while Jeremy went to the gym and started putting our new tractor attachment together.  When we got back, the kids had lunch and took their naps while I helped Jeremy finish his project.  We bought a lawn sweeper to pull behind our tractor and pick up the leaves.  It works great!  And sure beats raking a whole acre worth of leaves.  Jeremy's friend Mike and his girlfriend stopped over for a visit and then we were off to the Gilbert's house for their Halloween Party.

On Sunday morning, Jeremy and I ran in the Detroit Marathon Relay with our friends Rhonda, Ryan, Angela, Eric and Erica.  Jeremy accidentally missed the bus to catch his leg of the marathon, so he ran two legs and so did Ryan.  I ran the finish line leg.
Sunday evening the kids and I headed over to see Aunt Patsy and Uncle Tom who were here from Pennsylvania.  We also got to see my Mom, Gramma & Grampa, Uncle Tom, Aunt Cathy, Uncle John, Aunt Denise, Uncle Ed and Uncle Paul.

22 Months Old

Time for my monthly update for Matthew & Claire!  They're both talking more and more.  They can easily put two words together and are starting to say some full sentances.  They've both taken an interest in what's up in the sky, pointing out airplanes, the moon and stars.

Matthew continues to love trucks, trains, tractors and anything else mechanical.  When we're driving he points out a bus, tractor, the moon, etc.  I've been teaching him red light means stop and green means go, so now he and Claire yell "Green!  Go" when we're in the car at a light.  Matthew LOVES to play outside.  He would stay outside all day if we let him.  He keeps busy with his chalk and ride on toys.  He loves letters; anytime he gets ahold of a pen or piece of chalk he asks us to write an "H" or "K", etc.  He can say most of the alphabet in order and he does recognize each letter if you show it to him individually.  He's working on numbers and can count to at least ten.

Claire is very talkative, she can say quite a few sentances and is really good at getting her point across verbally.  She loves animals and can recite all the noises they make.  Claire is pretty good at the alphabet, too and can identify almost all the letters.  She can count up to 20, but sometimes skips 15 through 19!  Claire enjoys having one on one time with us if Matthew takes a longer nap.  She likes being able to sit in your lap and read, but if Matthew's awake she chooses to play with him instead of read ;)  Claire is good with people's names, she asks for "Mama, Dada, Gramma and her friend Heidi".

Here's a couple 22 month old photos!

Fall Fun

On Saturday, the day of the big MSU v U of M game, we headed out in full Spartan gear to the park.  The twins played for a couple hours and we had a picnic lunch with Gramma and Great-Gramma.

World's tiniest Spartan shirt!

I heart my sister ;)

Little Spartan Fans!

On Sunday we went to Mayberry State Park to take some fall photos....

We've started graduating from high chairs to booster seats at the table!  They're eating a little better now that we're all sitting together!
