Vacation - day 2

We got up and got the car packed up by about 8:30AM, we had a quick breakfast in the car and got back on the road. It took us about 4 hours to make it to Corolla. We had to first stop in Duck at the rental office to pick up the keys and our instruction packet for the house. Luckily, the house was all ready to go (about 4 hours sooner than we thought we’d be able to check in). The house we rented is called Ocean Sunrise (we rented from Carolina Designs) and it’s in the Crown Point subdivision in Corolla. The subdivision has a pool and tennis courts that people renting can use. The house we rented is right on the water; the only thing that separates the house from the ocean is a small sand dune. The house has 3 floors: a small family room and washer and dryer on the ground floor, 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms on the second floor and 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, a large family room and large kitchen/eating area on the top floor. Each floor has a balcony that spans the entire back of the house, with porch swings and other chairs. There's a hot tub located on the second floor balcony. It's nice to be able to sit out on the balcony and see the ocean.

The first thing we did after we unpacked was meet Andrew and my Dad for lunch down in Duck. We ate at the Roadside Bar and Grill, the food was excellent and we were able to eat outside. The Twins took a nap in their stroller during lunch. We made a stop at the grocery store to stock up on some food and other items for the house. In the evening, we walked down to the beach to check out the water, it is freezing!! Andrew and Jeremy tried out the skim board, my Mom and I just stayed on the beach with Matthew and Claire.

When we got back in the babies had some cereal, took baths and headed to bed. They were tired from their long day. The rest of us had pizza and relaxed for the rest of the night.
